How it started

In Crystal Lake "German blood" is flowing - in the veins of many inhabitants: 60% have German ancestors.

Therefore Crystal Lake began looking for a German sister city. Holzgerlingen then seemed to be ideal, one reason is EISENMANN, the company is present in both towns.

In May 1993, a delegation from Crystal Lake arrived in Holzgerlingen. The members of the "Sister-City Committee" were searching for 2 1/2 years for a sister city in Germany. In the beginning most people in Holzgerlingen were doubtful of a partnership, but after the first visit in Crystal Lake in May 1995, enthusiasm started to grow.
